What is Spot/Spray Patching?

Spot/Spray Patching is a process of combining Hot Asphalt Emulsion with aggregate to fill/compact a solid pavement base.

Benefits of Spot/Spray Patching

Cost Effective
Patching can be applied throughout varying climatic conditions.
Patching can be performed on a wide array of repairs including:

- Asphalt Depressions
- Potholes
- Speedbumps
- Shoulder Retention
- Stress/Alligator Cracking

Cleaning/Preparation

The area to be patched must be cleaned and prepared. A high volume blower is used to create a clean surface. Any debris such as stones and loose material is removed.

Tack Coating

A tack coat of hot asphalt is applied to the area to be patched. The tack coat creates a binder and seals the base. The tack coat is applied to any holes or cracks in the base.

Fill and Compact

The Hot Asphalt Emulsion combined with aggregate is applied on top of the tack coat of the area to be patched. The pneumatic pressure at which the material is applied ensures a solid and consistent base of the area to be patched.

Dry/Top Coat

A coat of aggregate is applied on top of the Applicated Material. Traffic can proceed without any delays.
